Understand MindWeal’s
Process and What to
Expect at Every Step
From the first evaluation to personalized next steps, MindWeal guides families through a structured, thoughtful process designed to bring greater clarity and confidence to care decisions.

HOW IT WORKS
How MindWeal guides care, step by step
MindWeal follows a structured, step-by-step process designed to help providers understand your child more
clearly, answer the right clinical questions, and guide next steps with greater confidence and precision. Each step builds on the one before it, helping care move forward with clearer direction and a stronger foundation.

Comprehensive Onboarding & M-Wise Assessment
The process begins with a comprehensive onboarding experience designed to gather important background and clinical information before the first appointment.
Families complete a structured intake process covering medical history, developmental history, family history, and prior treatment history.
Families also complete M-Wise, MindWeal’s structured 1365-touchpoint assessment system designed to gather information across emotional, behavioral, developmental, academic, and other mental health domains. M-Wise not only helps assess symptoms, but also evaluates symptom patterns, contributing factors, functional impairment, and developmental expectations to help providers better understand a child’s challenges.
By gathering meaningful clinical information before the appointment, providers can spend less time collecting information and more time focused on understanding concerns, answering questions, and guiding next steps.
Why it matters:
A strong evaluation creates the foundation for greater diagnostic clarity, more informed recommendations, and clearer next steps.

Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation & Diagnostic Clarification
After completing the onboarding and M-Wise assessment process, families meet with a MindWeal provider for a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. During the appointment, the provider reviews the information gathered beforehand, explores concerns in greater depth, hears directly from the child, and completes a mental status examination.
This step is also where we determine whether the evaluation already provides enough information to guide treatment — or whether more objective testing would be helpful before finalizing the next steps.
Why it matters:
This step helps transform the information gathered during onboarding into a more complete psychiatric assessment supporting greater diagnostic clarity, more personalized treatment planning, and more informed next steps.

Focused testing, when needed
Additional testing is not part of every child’s process. It is recommended only when, after the comprehensive onboarding and psychiatric assessment, objective measurement is still needed to answer a specific clinical question or guide next steps.
When appropriate, MindWeal may complete in-house testing focused on ADHD-related concerns, or evaluation of executive functioning. If broader learning or cognitive questions remain, we may help coordinate outside specialized testing, such as neuropsychological or psychoeducational evaluation.
Why it matters:
Testing is used only when it adds meaningful objective information beyond the evaluation itself, while keeping the process focused, efficient, and clinically useful.

Treatment Planning & Support
Once the evaluation process is complete, providers work collaboratively with families to develop a personalized treatment plan based on the child’s symptoms, strengths, goals, and overall clinical needs.
The treatment plan may include medication management, behavioral strategies, counseling referrals, parent guidance and education, school accommodations, or referrals for specialized services when appropriate.
Why it matters:
A clear and personalized treatment plan helps translate the evaluation process into practical, organized, and actionable next steps.

Follow-Up & Progress Tracking
Care continues beyond the initial evaluation and treatment recommendations. Through follow-up visits, ongoing feedback, wellness tracking, and progress monitoring, providers continue evaluating how the child is responding over time and whether adjustments may be helpful.
MindWeal’s wellness scores help monitor symptom severity, functional improvement, and overall progress over time. This ongoing monitoring can also help identify children who may need additional support, closer follow-up, or treatment adjustments more proactively.
As children grow, school demands change, symptoms improve, or new challenges emerge, treatment recommendations and support strategies can also evolve to better match the child’s current needs.
Why it matters:
Ongoing monitoring helps providers track progress over time, identify when additional support may be needed, and adjust care more proactively as a child’s needs evolve.

THE MINDWEAL DIFFERENCE
A more connected and
supportive care experience
MindWeal combines comprehensive evaluation, ongoing wellness monitoring, and integrated support
tools to help families feel more informed, supported, and confident throughout their care journey.
1
More understanding before the first appointment
MindWeal’s M-Wise assessment system gives providers a more detailed clinical foundation before the first visit, allowing visits to focus less on basic intake and more on understanding concerns, answering family questions, and guiding next steps.
2
More visibility into progress
MindWeal’s wellness scores help families and providers track symptom severity, functional improvement, and overall progress over time. This helps highlight meaningful changes, celebrate improvements, and support more informed and proactive care decisions.
3
More support between appointments
Care doesn’t stop when a visit ends. Secure messaging, wellness tracking, parent and patient education resources, DIY therapy guides, and automated treatment summary letters help families stay informed, connected, and supported between appointments.
COMPONENTS OF CARE
Support tailored to your child’s needs
Every child’s needs are different, and recommendations are personalized based on the
clinical findings, level of impairment, strengths, and overall goals.
Medication Management
When appropriate, medication management may become part of the treatment plan through a careful and structured process focused on symptom improvement, daily functioning, ongoing monitoring, and long-term progress.
Counseling & Therapy Referrals
When psychotherapy is recommended, MindWeal helps connect families with counseling providers in the community that best match the child’s needs and treatment goals.
School Support & Advocacy
Some children may benefit from school accommodations, behavioral supports, or academic interventions. MindWeal helps guide recommendations, documentation, and support coordination when appropriate.
Care Coordination
MindWeal helps coordinate care with pediatricians, counselors, and other providers involved in the child’s care. This includes ongoing communication and automated treatment summary letters following evaluations and ongoing treatment.
Specialized Referrals
When additional support is needed, MindWeal also helps coordinate referrals for services such as neuropsychological evaluation, psychoeducational testing, occupational therapy, speech therapy, autism spectrum disorder evaluation, higher levels of care, and other specialized supports when appropriate.
Education & Support Tools
