What if my child doesn’t cooperate or results are invalid?

That’s okay—and it happens sometimes.

If your child is unable to complete the test or doesn’t cooperate despite our support, we’ll talk with you about next steps. In many cases, the test can be repeated at a later time.

How repeat testing works:

  • If you’re using insurance:
If the test needs to be repeated, it is typically covered again by your insurance.
  • If you’re paying self-pay:
    • If the test is incomplete or invalid because your child couldn’t finish or wasn’t able to cooperate, we do not charge you for that attempt.
    • If the test is technically completed but later determined to be invalid after clinical interpretation and needs to be repeated for accuracy, the repeat test would be billed again.

Our goal is never to penalize families. We want testing to be accurate, fair, and useful—and we’ll always explain the situation clearly before recommending a repeat.
