Our Services
At MindWeal, we provide a range of specialized services for children and adolescents aged 4 to 18. Our offerings include:
- Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluations: Thorough assessments to understand your child’s mental health needs.
- Medication Management: Ongoing support and adjustments to ensure effective treatment.
- Specialized Testing: In-depth testing for ADHD and executive functioning disorders.
While we do not offer counseling services directly, we collaborate with outstanding counseling groups to ensure your child receives holistic care. Regardless of the treatment path you choose—whether psychotherapy, medication, or a combination of both—a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation is the essential first step in your child’s mental wellness journey.
MindWeal handles a broad range of children’s mental health issues including behavioral and learning problems, mood disorders, depression, anxiety, OCD, autism, trauma and attachment disorders, psychosis, gender-related issues, eating disorders, and tics, among others. We don’t address substance use disorder and conduct disorder.
MindWeal offers a broad variety of mental health services, but we don’t cover everything. We don’t provide intensive outpatient programs, partial or full inpatient hospitalization, residential treatment, or therapy specialized for substance use disorders or conduct disorders.
MindWeal accepts new patients aged 4-18 years. We also accept individuals over 18 as new patients if they’re still in high school or below. We do not automatically discharge patients once they turn 18. We continue to offer our services until the age of 24, provided they do not require specialized treatments of Adult Psychiatry that are beyond our scope, such as TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation), Ketamine treatment, or depot injections for medications.
Yes, at MindWeal, we provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation services. Our board-certified providers conduct a thorough assessment of your child’s emotional, cognitive, and behavioral functioning to ensure an accurate diagnosis. Working together collaboratively, the provider will create a tailored and effective treatment plan that addresses your child’s specific needs. Our goal is to provide the best possible care for your child’s mental health and well-being.
Yes, following a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, if deemed necessary, our provider may recommend medication management. If medication is prescribed, you will have regular follow-ups with the provider. Experience the advantages of personalized prescriptions, expert administration, thorough monitoring, and ongoing communication with healthcare providers. Our prescribers also collaborate with your child’s therapist if they are also receiving therapy. Our focus is on providing comprehensive care to optimize your child’s well-being and treatment outcomes.
While MindWeal does not provide counseling services directly, we partner with exceptional counseling groups to ensure comprehensive care. Our partners offer high-quality, individualized therapies tailored to each child and their family. If therapy is recommended after a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, we will refer you to a trusted local therapist who collaborates with us for seamless and integrated care.
Yes, we use advanced ADHD testing to objectively measure children’s attention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. The test uses hard data to improve the accuracy of our evaluations. It gives percentile scores by comparing your child’s ADHD symptoms to those of peers of the same age and gender. This test is crucial as ADHD diagnosis can be complex due to inconsistent history and possible coexisting disorders with similar symptoms. Through this advanced testing, we can clearly diagnose and craft personalized treatment plans for your child, aligning with their unique challenges. A comprehensive report of the test results also aids in advocating for your child’s needs at school and securing necessary accommodations.
Before any ADHD testing, our provider must first conduct an initial clinical assessment. If the assessment deems it necessary, the provider will then refer your child for testing.
Certainly, we offer executive functioning testing, an objective evaluation of cognitive abilities needed for tasks like planning, problem-solving, decision-making, self-control, and cognitive flexibility. This test offers a clear understanding of an individual’s cognitive strengths and weaknesses. It’s particularly useful when diagnosing Executive Functioning disorder, which can be complex due to inconsistencies in history and possible co-existing disorders with similar symptoms. Based on the results, we create tailored treatment plans for your child. This includes at-home computer training for 15 minutes, two to three times a week, aimed at enhancing cognitive abilities. A comprehensive report of the test results also aids in advocating for your child’s needs at school and securing necessary accommodations.
To commence executive functioning testing, our provider first needs to conduct an initial clinical evaluation. If deemed appropriate, your child will then be referred for testing.
Our comprehensive psychiatric evaluations assess a wide range of mental health conditions in children, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Autism is a collection of symptoms that often requires evaluation by multiple specialists, such as psychiatrists, psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and developmental pediatricians. The first step is completing a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation with one of our board-certified providers to understand the root causes of your child’s symptoms.
If autism is suspected, additional testing — such as IQ testing, speech and language evaluations, or occupational therapy assessments — may be recommended based on your child’s symptom profile. We coordinate referrals to trusted specialists for these evaluations.
Once all evaluations are completed, the results are sent back to us. We integrate all findings to create a clear, comprehensive understanding of your child’s needs and to develop a personalized treatment plan. We also advocate for services and accommodations your child may need within the school system.
The entire process is overseen by our board-certified psychiatric providers, ensuring a coordinated and expert approach.
We provide clinical evaluations to understand the possible causes of your child’s learning issues. Learning difficulties may be linked to ADHD, anxiety, executive functioning deficits, and other mental health issues. For further clarification, we conduct ADHD testing and executive functioning testing, and recommend appropriate treatments based on the results.
To assess your child’s struggles in specific subjects, Achievement Testing is required. This test estimates your child’s academic skills, particularly in reading, writing, and mathematics, in comparison to standard expectations. Please note that we do not conduct this specific testing, as it is typically provided by schools as part of a child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). If deemed necessary, we will request the school to conduct this testing as part of the IEP process.
Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation
A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation at MindWeal is a thorough diagnostic assessment designed to understand why a child or teen is struggling—not just what symptoms they show.
It combines M-Wise, our structured pre-visit assessment completed at home, with a detailed clinical interview and careful review of emotional, behavioral, developmental, medical, family, and school factors. M-Wise captures structured information before the visit so your clinician can spend the appointment focused on understanding your child—not rushing through checklists.
The goal is accurate diagnosis, clear explanations, and a personalized plan that fits your child—rather than a rushed label or trial-and-error approach.
A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation is needed for any child or teen seeking services at MindWeal who is experiencing emotional, behavioral, mental health, learning, or developmental concerns and wants clear answers—not guesswork.
At MindWeal, this evaluation is the starting point for care because it allows us to understand what is truly driving your child’s struggles. Without fully understanding the root cause, it’s not possible to create a treatment plan that is truly tailored, individualized, and effective.
The comprehensive evaluation helps us:
- Identify the underlying factors contributing to your child’s symptoms
- Distinguish between conditions that can look similar on the surface
- Understand your child in the context of their development, family, and school life
- Build a clear, personalized plan for what will actually help
Because of this, the comprehensive psychiatric evaluation is required before beginning treatment at MindWeal. It ensures that every next step—whether therapy, medication, testing, or school support—is intentional, appropriate, and based on a complete understanding of your child.
Yes, many families do. Some are looking for a second look, others for added clarity or confirmation before moving forward with treatment. Our evaluation is intentionally comprehensive, capturing over 1,300 clinically relevant data points and designed by a board-certified child psychiatrist. This structured approach helps ensure important details aren’t missed, especially when symptoms overlap or have changed over time. We also carefully review any prior evaluations and explain what fits, what may not, and why.
Yes — uncertainty is actually one of the most common reasons families schedule an evaluation. Because our assessment is so thorough, it’s well-suited for picking up subtle or early patterns that brief screenings often miss. And if we don’t find a diagnosable condition, that’s good news. You’ll leave knowing your child is developing within expected limits and with guidance on what to watch for, rather than continuing to worry or guess.
Pediatric screenings are brief tools meant to flag possible concerns. They’re an important first step, but they’re not designed to provide diagnostic clarity. Our new patient evaluation is a full psychiatric assessment that looks at symptoms, development, medical history, family and school context, and daily functioning in a structured way. This depth allows us to distinguish between conditions that can look very similar on the surface and to guide treatment decisions with confidence.
That can happen, especially with younger children, overlapping symptoms, or when development is still unfolding. That’s not a failure — it’s often a sign of thoughtful, careful evaluation.
We are very careful not to miss a diagnosis. If one isn’t appropriate, we explain why and still provide a clear plan based on your child’s needs, strengths, and challenges — without forcing a label.
You won’t be left on your own. Based on the evaluation, we guide next steps, which may include therapy, medication management, additional testing, school supports, or coordination with other providers involved in your child’s care.
That’s very common, especially for younger children or teens. Our evaluation does not rely solely on your child talking during the visit. We gather information from multiple sources and meet your child where they are, without pressure.
Medication Management
Medication management at MindWeal is an ongoing, structured clinical service, not just prescribing or refills.
It includes careful evaluation of whether medication is appropriate, thoughtful selection and dosing, close monitoring for effectiveness and side effects, and regular follow-up to adjust treatment over time. Medication decisions are made collaboratively with families and are always part of a broader care plan—not a standalone solution.
Not necessarily.
There is no preset timeline for medication use. Some children benefit from medication for a limited period, while others may need longer-term support depending on the nature and severity of their symptoms, and response to therapy and other interventions.
We regularly review progress and reassess whether medication is still helpful, needed, or should be adjusted or stopped.
Medication decisions are based on a comprehensive clinical evaluation—not a checklist or a rushed visit.
We consider:
- Your child’s primary diagnosis and the pattern of symptoms
- Symptom severity
- Impact on daily functioning, including school performance, home life, relationships, and emotional well-being
- Response to therapy and other supports
- Medical history and any safety considerations
- Your family’s goals and values
Medication is recommended only when evidence shows it is likely to meaningfully help—and when the benefits clearly outweigh the risks.
Absolutely.
For many children and teens, therapy is the first step, especially when symptoms are mild, situational, or related to stress or life changes. Medication is considered when therapy alone isn’t enough, symptoms are more severe, or evidence shows that medication can meaningfully improve outcomes.
We help families weigh options and move forward at a pace that feels right for their child.
We track progress using a structured, data-informed approach.
This includes:
- Symptom and functioning check-ins
- Wellness scores and rating scales
- Your observations at home
- Feedback from school, when available
Together, this helps us determine whether medication is improving day-to-day functioning—not just changing symptoms on paper.
Safety monitoring is built into every step of care.
We schedule early follow-ups after starting or adjusting medication, review side effects directly with families, and stay connected between visits through our secure platform so concerns can be addressed promptly. Medications are adjusted thoughtfully, with safety always taking priority.
Medication plans are flexible and reversible.
If a medication isn’t helping or causes side effects, we may adjust the dose, switch medications, pause treatment, or stop medication altogether. Adjustments are expected and guided by your child’s response, comfort, and safety—not viewed as failure.
Yes.
We carefully review your child’s current medication regimen, treatment history, and response so far. From there, we work with you to decide whether to continue the current plan, make adjustments, or transition to a different approach—always with safety and clarity in mind.
Most medication management visits are covered by the insurance plans we accept.
Coverage varies by plan, and some visits may require prior authorization. Our team can help you understand your specific benefits and what to expect before care begins.
ADHD Testing
ADHD testing at MindWeal is a focused, objective assessment of attention and self-control, used as part of a broader clinical evaluation.
It is not a standalone diagnosis. Testing is combined with a comprehensive clinical visit, detailed history, parent and teacher input, and the M-Wise assessment to understand what’s truly driving a child’s challenges and what support will be most helpful.
No. ADHD is primarily a clinical diagnosis, and many children can be accurately diagnosed based on a comprehensive clinical evaluation, detailed history, and input from parents and teachers—without computerized testing.
At MindWeal, ADHD testing is used selectively, when it adds clarity or confidence to important decisions, when symptoms are complex or overlapping, or when families choose testing for their own peace of mind.
ADHD testing may be helpful if your child is struggling with attention, learning, behavior, or consistency across settings—and it’s unclear what’s driving those challenges.
At MindWeal, testing is most useful when:
- Symptoms look different at home and school
- Learning or attention concerns overlap with anxiety, mood, sleep, or stress
- Important decisions are being considered, such as medication or school supports
- You want greater clarity or reassurance about what’s contributing to your child’s difficulties
Not every child needs ADHD testing. Many children can be accurately diagnosed through clinical evaluation alone. Our providers help families decide whether testing will meaningfully add value—or whether it’s better to move forward without it.
The ADHD evaluation at MindWeal is a stepwise, integrated process designed for accuracy and efficiency.
It typically includes:
- The M-Wise assessment completed at home
A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation with a MindWeal provider - Parent and teacher input
- Objective ADHD testing, when clinically helpful
- A follow-up visit to review results and agree on next steps
This approach ensures families receive clear answers, a practical plan, and coordinated care—without unnecessary testing or delays.
The ADHD test objectively measures how your child’s attention, organization and self-control function in real time.
It looks at factors such as:
- Sustained attention
- Consistency of responses
- Impulsivity
- How attention changes with increasing task demands
The test does not measure intelligence, effort, or academic ability. It simply helps us understand how your child’s attention system works.
Not necessarily. Most children only need objective attention testing. Executive function tasks are added only when needed, such as when we’re trying to understand whether working memory, processing speed, or higher-level organization skills may also be contributing to learning difficulties. Your provider will recommend only the testing that is clinically helpful.
ADHD testing, when combined with our clinical assessment, can help us determine whether learning or perceived attention struggles are due to ADHD, another mental health condition, or a combination of factors.
That’s why we always interpret testing results in the context of the full evaluation, including M-Wise data, clinical interviews, and input from parents and teachers—so conclusions are thoughtful, accurate, and clinically meaningful.
School testing is designed to measure academic achievement, not to diagnose medical or mental health conditions.
In school-based evaluations, the focus is usually on:
- Reading, writing, and math skills
- How far a child may be behind academically
- Eligibility for educational supports or accommodations
While this information is helpful, school testing typically shows what the outcome is, not why a child is struggling.
If a child is behind academically, school testing does not determine whether the underlying cause is:
- ADHD
- Anxiety, depression, or other mental health conditions
- Learning or cognitive differences
ADHD testing and clinical evaluation focus on identifying the reason behind the learning difficulty, which is necessary to guide appropriate treatment and next steps.
Neuropsychological testing evaluates cognitive abilities, such as IQ, memory, processing speed & higher-level reasoning skills.
ADHD testing, on the other hand, focuses specifically on attention and self-control, which are the first steps in learning and one of the most common reasons children struggle academically.
Because attention comes first:
- Untreated attention problems can make cognitive test scores appear lower than a child’s true abilities
- Neuropsychological testing done without first understanding attention may produce misleading results
ADHD testing helps us determine:
- Whether attention is the primary issue
- Whether cognitive concerns may truly be present
- Whether neuropsychological testing is actually needed
When cognitive testing is appropriate, we refer families for neuropsychological evaluation after attention concerns are clarified—so results are more accurate and meaningful.
It’s also important to know that neuropsychological testing:
- Is often costly and frequently not covered by insurance
- Commonly involves long wait times
Our stepwise approach helps families avoid unnecessary testing while ensuring the right evaluation is done at the right time.
Yes. Teacher input is very helpful, but the evaluation can still move forward without it. We use multiple sources of information, and your provider will guide next steps if teacher feedback is delayed or unavailable.
That’s okay—and it happens sometimes.
If your child is unable to complete the test or doesn’t cooperate despite our support, we’ll talk with you about next steps. In many cases, the test can be repeated at a later time.
How repeat testing works:
- If you’re using insurance:
If the test needs to be repeated, it is typically covered again by your insurance. - If you’re paying self-pay:
- If the test is incomplete or invalid because your child couldn’t finish or wasn’t able to cooperate, we do not charge you for that attempt.
- If the test is technically completed but later determined to be invalid after clinical interpretation and needs to be repeated for accuracy, the repeat test would be billed again.
Our goal is never to penalize families. We want testing to be accurate, fair, and useful—and we’ll always explain the situation clearly before recommending a repeat.
You’ll receive a written report through your secure MindWeal portal about one week after testing, along with guidance on how to interpret the findings.
These results are then reviewed in detail with your provider during your follow-up visit, typically about two weeks after testing, where you can ask questions and agree on next steps together.
The follow-up visit is usually scheduled at the time the testing is scheduled, so you’ll know exactly when you’ll review the results with your provider.
Getting Started at MindWeal
To access care at MindWeal, simply visit our website and click the “Get Started” button. You will be directed to the MindWeal platform to create your account. Please note that guardians of the patients should set up the account. Once your account is set up, we will collect your child’s basic demographic information. Our team will then reach out to you to schedule an appointment. We strive to see your child within 48 hours, provided you complete the intake process promptly. Your child’s well-being is our priority, and we look forward to assisting you in the journey towards better mental health.
The intake process includes signing treatment consent forms and conveniently sharing your child’s medical and family history on our user-friendly platform. Additionally, you will complete a comprehensive and interactive assessment of your child’s psychiatric symptoms using M-CAT, an advanced questionnaire designed by Dr. Bansal. This assessment takes into account overlapping symptoms of psychiatric diagnoses and developmental aspects of behavior, which aids our providers in making accurate diagnoses and providing effective care tailored to your child’s needs. Our goal is to ensure a smooth and thorough intake process for the best possible care and treatment outcomes.
During your new patient appointment, you and your child will meet with a board-certified provider who will conduct a comprehensive clinical evaluation. This evaluation will involve a thorough discussion about your concerns and your child’s mental health. The provider will educate you about the diagnosis, available treatment options, and the expected outcomes of the recommended approach.
Based on the evaluation, a personalized treatment plan will be created to address your child’s unique needs. This plan may include one or more of the following components:
- Recommendations and referrals for evidence-based counseling or psychotherapy to address specific mental health issues.
- If medication is deemed necessary, a clear plan for medication management will be discussed, including potential benefits and potential side effects.
- Recommendations for advanced testing or assessments, if required, to further clarify the diagnosis and guide treatment decisions.
Appointment & Scheduling
For new patients, the appointment process is straightforward. First, create an account on our website, then provide your basic demographic information, and finally, request an appointment with your preferred dates and times. Within 1 business day, our staff will call you to schedule your appointment.
If you’re an existing patient, your provider typically schedules your next appointment during your visit. However, you can also book the appointment yourself online through the MindWeal app. Alternatively, you can contact us via secure messaging on the app or by calling us directly.
At MindWeal, we strive to make the appointment scheduling process as easy and accessible as possible for both new and existing patients.
Rescheduling with MindWeal is straightforward. You can respond to the appointment reminder sent 1-2 weeks prior to your visit. Alternatively, you can request to reschedule using the secure messaging feature on the MindWeal app or by calling us directly. Please remember a $50 late cancellation fee is charged for rescheduling within 24 hours of the appointment (excluding weekends and holidays). Our goal is to provide flexibility while effectively managing appointments to serve all patients.
Canceling your MindWeal appointment is simple. You can respond to the appointment reminder sent 1-2 weeks in advance, or you can request a cancellation using the secure messaging feature on the MindWeal app or by calling us directly. Please note that a $50 fee applies for cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment (weekends and holidays excluded). We strive to balance flexibility with efficient appointment management for all our patients.
At MindWeal, we request a 24-hour notice (excluding weekends and holidays) for appointment cancellations to manage schedules effectively. Late cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment incur a $50 fee. This policy aids in efficient resource allocation and benefits all our patients.
Our clinic has a No Show policy to manage appointments better. If you miss an appointment without notice, you’ll be charged a $50 No Show fee. We try to be flexible for unexpected situations, but it’s important to control no-shows for smooth operations. This helps us use appointment slots wisely and serve all patients on time.
At MindWeal, we offer both in-person and online visits to suit your needs. You can choose either option for new patient evaluations. Follow-up appointments for medication management are generally conducted online, though in-person visits can be arranged if necessary. Services for ADHD and executive functioning are available in both formats. Our virtual services provide a convenient, patient-centered approach with reduced wait times.
- Building a quicker therapeutic relationship: During virtual visits, patients often feel more comfortable in the familiar setting of their home, leading to more open communication about their problems and emotions. This fosters the establishment of a therapeutic alliance more rapidly.
- Insight into family dynamics: Virtual visits allow psychiatrists to observe the child in their home environment, providing valuable information about family dynamics and parenting styles. Understanding these dynamics plays a crucial role in comprehending the child’s mental state.
- Convenience and minimal disruption: Virtual visits offer convenience for both parents and children, as they can attend appointments without the need to take time off from work or school. This leads to fewer cancellations, improved treatment compliance, and a more effective treatment process.
- Increased access to mental health care: Telepsychiatry benefits people in rural areas who may not have easy access to psychiatrists within a drivable distance. With telemedicine, mental health care becomes accessible from anywhere in the world, bringing essential services to those in need.
Insurance & Coverage
If we accept your insurance, you are responsible for your copay at the time of the visit, which is charged automatically to the card we have on file. We then submit the claim to your insurance company, and you are responsible for any balance not covered. Because coverage varies by plan, we cannot provide exact estimates in advance.
If prior authorization is required, we will complete the process and advocate for your services to be covered. In some cases—such as with TRICARE West—we know authorization is required. In other cases, like ADHD testing, requirements may vary. To be certain, we recommend confirming with your insurance provider before your visit.
Your responsibility depends on your insurance plan and whether outpatient visits to a specialist apply to your deductible. If they do, you are responsible for the full cost of visits until your deductible is met—either for the individual, for the family, or both, depending on your plan. Once your deductible is satisfied, your insurance begins covering its portion of costs. For details specific to your plan, contact your insurance provider directly.
It depends on your plan. Most require a copay for each outpatient visit with a specialist, including follow-ups. In some cases, your copay may be tied to your deductible, meaning you could be responsible for the full cost until the deductible is met. For accurate details, contact your insurance provider.
Generally, yes. Follow-up visits are usually covered in the same way as the initial visit. However, some plans limit the number of visits allowed per year, or coverage may depend on whether your plan is active on the day of the appointment. For details specific to your plan, contact your insurance provider directly.
An ADHD evaluation at MindWeal typically includes three visits: an initial one-on-one evaluation with a board-certified provider, a 30-minute in-office ADHD test if needed, and a follow-up to review results. If we accept your insurance, these visits are generally covered, though the testing portion may sometimes fall outside of coverage. We recommend contacting your insurance provider and asking if billing codes 96132, 96138, and 96139 are covered. In rare cases, additional documentation is required, and we will provide it if needed.
Medication coverage depends on your plan. Many insurers use insurance medication lists (called formularies) with different tiers. Some medications require prior authorization, which we will complete for you. If a medication is not approved, your provider will work with you to find an alternative covered by your plan. Please note: if you have Medicaid but are using DirectPay for visits, prescriptions from our providers will not be covered. In this case, your pediatrician will need to prescribe the medication, and we will provide recommendations and coordinate directly with them.
If your coverage changes, let us know right away so we can update your records. If your new plan is accepted, we will continue billing insurance as usual. If not, you can continue with DirectPay. We can also provide a superbill (a detailed receipt with billing codes) that you may submit for out-of-network reimbursement.
Yes. Please notify us as soon as possible so we can update your information. If your new plan is one we accept, we will begin billing that insurance. If not, you can continue through DirectPay, and we can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement.
Even if we accept your insurance, you are welcome to use our DirectPay option instead. Many families choose this for its transparency and simplicity. However, if you use DirectPay when we accept your insurance, you cannot submit that payment to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Billing & Payments
We accept commercial plans of BCBS of all states, United Health Care (UHC), Cigna & Health Alliance Network. TriCare is also accepted as an out-of-network provider. If you’re a TriCare member, consult with them about your specific plan’s coverage for our services.
The cost of our services depends on whether you use your insurance or pay out of pocket. If we accept your insurance, we will first bill your insurance, and you will be responsible for any pending balance, which includes your copay and any amount not covered by your insurance plan. If you choose to pay out of pocket, you’ll be accountable for the entire payment. Costs vary depending on the required service type and whether you opt for bundled services. For a comprehensive overview of our pricing, please refer to our pricing page.
If we accept your insurance: We bill your insurance company first. After your claim is processed, you are responsible for any remaining balance.
If we do not accept your insurance: Full payment is due on the day of your appointment. We can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt with billing codes) that you may submit to your insurance company for possible partial or full reimbursement, depending on your out-of-network benefits.
Every patient keeps a credit card on file, and all payments are processed securely through Stripe, our PCI-certified partner.
If you use insurance: Your copay is charged automatically on the day of your visit. After we submit the claim to your insurance company, any remaining balance is billed separately. You’ll receive up to three text reminders, each with a secure payment link processed by ClearGage (another PCI-certified partner).
If you use DirectPay: The full cost of your visit is charged automatically on the day of your appointment, processed securely by Stripe.
If the bill remains unpaid after 3 electronic reminders, we will send you a statement in the mail. You can then choose to make the payment by mailing us a check, sending your credit card information through the mail, or simply calling us with your credit or debit card details. Please note that we do not accept cash, money orders or demand drafts.
When you receive a new bill from MindWeal, we send three weekly text reminders with a link to pay online. If unpaid, we then mail a paper statement. If the bill is still unpaid 30 days after the statement, we send another text reminder followed by a final letter two weeks later. Accounts not settled at that point are referred to a collection agency, and we are unable to continue services such as appointments, medication refills, communications, or referrals. We value transparent billing and timely payments to ensure uninterrupted care. If you have any billing questions or concerns, please contact our team right away so we can help.
Upon request, we will provide a superbill (a detailed receipt with billing codes, also called CPT codes) that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. If your insurer requires additional documentation, we are happy to provide it. This helps many families recover part of their costs.
In most cases, yes. You can use your FSA (Flexible Spending Account) or HSA (Health Savings Account) card for copays, balances, or the full cost of services if you’re paying out of pocket. Payments are processed through Stripe, our PCI-certified partner. Whether a charge goes through depends on how your card is set up by your bank or plan administrator. If a charge doesn’t process, you can use another method and request reimbursement from your HSA/FSA provider. If unsure, check with your plan before your visit.
No. Payment is due in full at the time of service. With insurance, your copay is due on the day of your visit, and you are responsible for any balance once your claim has been processed. With DirectPay, the full visit cost is due on the day of your appointment.
Yes. Upon request, we will provide a superbill (a detailed receipt with billing codes, sometimes called CPT codes) that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. If your insurer requires additional documentation, we are happy to provide that as well.
You can request a copy by contacting our billing department. The fastest way is through the secure billing channel on the MindWeal platform. You may also call and select the billing extension. After a bill becomes due, we send text reminders and, if unpaid after one month, a paper statement.
Reach us through the billing channel on the MindWeal platform, by phone (billing extension), or through our website chatbot. For plan-specific details, contact your insurance company directly.

Medication Refills
You can request medication refills using the secure messaging feature on the MindWeal app or by calling us directly. Please note that we do not participate in automatic refill programs offered by pharmacies. For all refill requests, please reach out to us directly, not through the pharmacy. Personalized refill requests help us maintain a high standard of care, tailored to your individual treatment plan.
At MindWeal, we ensure prompt medication refills, aiming to complete all requests within a business day, but no longer than 3 business days. We process refills during regular office hours, which are 8 am to 5 pm from Monday to Friday.
No refills are processed on weekends or holidays. Our goal is to provide timely support and medication while adhering to our policy standards. For more details, please refer to our medication refill policy HERE.
MindWeal has formulated a policy on the prescription of stimulant medications, aimed at minimizing misuse and curbing medication diversion. This policy takes into account the findings of a comprehensive literature review and conforms to the guidelines put forward by organizations such as SAMSHA, AACAP, APA & AAP. Some important features of this policy include:
- Patients who are on stimulant medications are not permitted to use marijuana or any other illicit drugs.
- Patients aged 14 and above must provide an initial negative urine drug screen (UDS) before they can be prescribed stimulant medications.
- Patients aged 14 and above who are taking stimulant medications must have a minimum of one negative UDS result per year. More frequent and random UDS tests may be requested by your healthcare provider.
- If a UDS returns positive for any illicit substances, including tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is found in marijuana, stimulant medication will be stopped immediately.
Please refer to this LINK for the complete policy.

Yes, we can assist with your FMLA paperwork. Please note that there are charges for this service as outlined in our Document Processing Policy. We require a minimum of 5 business days to process the paperwork. If your last clinical visit was over 30 days ago, you’ll need to schedule a new appointment before we can proceed. For more details, please refer to our full policy HERE.
If your child is required to take medication in school and the school mandates a form to be completed by their provider to facilitate this, there will be no charges for completing these medication administration forms. Additionally, if we compose a letter as part of your child’s treatment plan during the day of their clinical visit, there will be no separate fee beyond the charge for the visit itself. Examples of such letters include advocating for the patient’s needs in school (for instance, requesting accommodations for ADHD, executive functioning deficits, or autism spectrum disorder), seeking additional testing for learning disabilities, or writing a letter to the child’s pediatrician to coordinate care.
However, there will be charges for any paperwork not recommended as part of the treatment plan by your provider or not completed on the day of the visit. To learn more about these charges, please click HERE.
